Crafting the concept
The design walks a deliberate line between raw and refined. Textural timber panelling and cognac oak flooring ground the space in warmth, while brass foot rails, veined quartz surfaces and mirrored panels dial up the sense of occasion. A curated palette of stone, timber, brass and glass brings texture, weight and contrast, each material earning its place in the space.
With its soft, off-white quartz countertop and dark oak detailing, the bar feels both inviting and elevated. Brass accents add an extra layer of luxury, glowing against the warm lighting, while antique brass footrests ground the design in timeless elegance.
Colour as character
The visual identity of Seppe draws directly from its food with colour becoming part of the storytelling. Taking cues from a 1930s Italian material palette, tomato red, pasta ochre, spinach green and dough white appear throughout the space: in off-white and red mosaic floor tiles, warm-toned signage and bespoke upholstery. These hues are more than decorative, they give flavour and feeling to the interiors.
Upholstered Bentwood stools in a burnt orange-red Kvadrat fabric add playful contrast to the deep timber tones of the bar along with vintage-inspired Bentwood chairs in cognac and bold tomato red cushions.
The space
Flexibility was key to the spatial planning. A mix of high and low seating, standing space and generous leather-clad banquettes creates room for everything from midweek slices to family-style celebrations. The layout encourages flow, comfort and community.
The banquettes are the showstoppers. Two-tone backrests in rich pesto suede and spinach leather bring both texture and depth, softened by fluted glass privacy screens in green and red that add intimacy and a subtle sense of theatre. These custom details elevate the everyday and give the space a unique rhythm.
At the centre of it all sits the bar, a true visual anchor. Its underlit brass kick plate, curved timber frontage and dark stone inset speak to timeless design principles. Rich cognac oak adds warmth and presence, while layered materials offer a tactile richness that’s at once relaxed and refined.
The timber panelling continues throughout, wrapping the lower walls to ground the space and provide a tactile base. Mirrored panels bounce light around the room, creating a sense of airiness, while olive green subway tiles around the pillars offer a surprising twist breaking up the space visually and adding a welcome hit of character.
Lighting with intention
Lighting plays a central role in defining Seppe’s mood. Globe opal pendants and vintage wall sconces cast a soft, golden glow that warms the palette and enriches the materials. Milky white walls act as a calm, neutral backdrop allowing the more vibrant accents, cardinal red, off-white mosaic floors, deep green leathers to shine with clarity.

Seppe isn’t trying too hard. It doesn’t need to. It’s designed to be cool without the edge, luxe without the ego and familiar, with just enough finesse to feel like something special. Every surface, finish and fixture is doing its job, from setting the tone to telling the story.
