The Parlor Stool
New York City — 2023
When briefed with redesigning The Dead Rabbit’s famed cocktail lounge, the Parlor, we embraced and gave power to their mantra, ‘Tradition Meet Tomorrow - a phrase which applies equally to the innovative beverage offering as to the artwork on the walls and the bar's furniture - including a bespoke stool designed by Crown Creative.
Our stool design was inspired by the geometric eye of modernist pioneer Eileen Gray, and we developed traditional Irish references like the turf briquette, the dolmen, the three-legged milking stool and the turned spindle footrest into abstract forms to create a contemporary yet functional take on the traditional Irish bar stool.
This stool represents The Dead Rabbit's ever present mission of propagating the very best that Ireland has to offer, and serves of an expression of Irish craft befitting of one of the World's most beloved cocktail lounges.
Interior Design of The Dead Rabbit New York was completed by our good friends at Drinksology.
