Led by acclaimed Chef Diego Muñoz, the restaurant is bold, expressive and unapologetically sensory.

Set against the lush backdrop of the Dominican Republic, Nina was created as the defining F&B moment within a destination known for refined experiences. Our role was to bring that story to life through a brand that channels mythology, heat and heritage into something confidently modern and visually unforgettable.

Rooted in fire

Named after the Quechua word for “fire”,  Nina was always going to lead with heat. It was about grounding that energy in story and in symbolism. Our goal was to craft an identity strong enough to command attention as the signature restaurant at Cap Cana and refined enough to sit within the wider brand family.

Defining Nina's identity

We explored ancient iconography and indigenous Peruvian textures, using these as a base to develop a bespoke symbol system. Each mark drawn from fire, land and sea became part of Nina’s visual language, layered across everything from menus to uniforms to custom ceramics. Together, they form a logo that feels both symbolic and sophisticated, anchoring the brand in place and meaning.

Typography and palette followed suit: bold yet elegant letterforms with sculptural curves; a colour system drawn from burnt earth, volcanic rock and sun-charred surfaces.

Charred lines

We introduced a suite of charcoal sketches, created by hand in the studio. Drawn using natural charcoal, they captured the raw, instinctive nature of fire itself. The strokes are imperfect, textured echoing the flames that drive the kitchen and the ruggedness of the Peruvian landscape. These drawings were scanned, layered and refined into a system of illustrative patterns that run through the brand like smoke.

A brand you feel

Nina became a creative anchor shaping how the St. Regis Cap Cana experience is felt, not just seen.

From the moment guests sit down, the brand speaks: in the texture of a menu, the ritual of a place setting, the quiet symbolism etched into a plate.

From menus to moments

Nina’s identity was designed to be felt at every touchpoint rich, layered and immersive. The visual language carries through into materials, finishes and guest moments that feel intentionally luxurious.

Menus are wrapped in textured, heavyweight stock, finished with embossed symbols and subtle foiling, a nod to scorched earth and ancient ritual. The symbol system appears across ceramics, glassware and leather, adding quiet detail to each dish and drink.

From lighting to signage to place settings, Nina’s brand doesn’t just show up, it settles in.
