A studio-curated spotlight on the women shaking things up.

Today, we’re giving it up for the women changing the game, pushing boundaries, owning their craft and leaving their mark across hospitality, design, film and beauty. And let’s be real, it’s not just about International Women’s Day. They’re doing this every day. And for the day that’s in it, we’re celebrating these incredible women, handpicked by the talented ladies at Crown Creative. They’re the ones making moves, telling new stories and shaking things up.

First off, in our own studio, we’re lucky to work alongside a powerhouse team of women every day, whose talent, ambition and infectious great humour, inspire everything we do. Whether it’s shaping a new brand, sparking fresh ideas, designing spaces with purpose or leading a project from start to finish, we get it done well. Reminding us that great work isn’t about one person, it’s about collaboration, empowering others and having fun while we’re at it.

That same energy can be seen in the women who inspire us on the daily.

Take Paula Scher, a pioneer in graphic design whose bold, unmistakable visuals has shaped some of the world’s most iconic brands. Louise Fili’s signature typography. Her work has set the standard for refined, timeless branding. Then there’s Talia Cotton, who’s switching up the digital space, seamlessly blending design with technology, proving that innovation is just as much about intelligence as it is aesthetics. And Cindy Gallop. She’s rewriting the rules in tech and media, showing that creativity goes beyond design, it’s about shifting the culture.

Artists and illustrators like Hattie Stewart and Marylou Faure bring bold energy to their work, blending playfulness with feminist themes to challenge the norm. Kelly Anna’s work blurs the lines between art and fashion, using striking silhouettes and movement to redefine wearable design. When it comes to beauty, Lisa Eldridge has built a brand, showing that makeup isn’t just about looking good, but about confidence and self-expression. Over in fashion, Sammy Robinson brings the same to her brand, One Mile, which represents an ode to her younger self, her grandma, her sisters, her mother and friends.

Hospitality design too, is being elevated by female vision.

Jeanette Mix’s Ett Hem, a Stockholm hotel reimagines luxury as warmth and intimacy, crafting an experience that feels personal rather than too polished. This ethos is shared by Ilse Crawford, whose people first design approach transforms spaces into sanctuaries. Her book A Frame for Life, a must read by the way, explores how spaces serve people, not just look good. Something that we like to build into our work.

Visionaries like Zaha Hadid, who redefined architecture and Maya Lin, whose memorials have shaped public spaces, reminding us that innovation is born from different perspectives.

Over to the foodie world.

Innovators like Laila Gohar who works with food as her creative medium, blending food and visual storytelling to create immersive, stunning dining experiences. Ngozi Elobuike is redefining the wine scene with Hi Spirits Wine Club, a space dedicated to making wine more accessible by curating experiences that celebrate community.

Women are leading the conversation and rightly so.

Looking at film and literature, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Aimee Lou Wood bring raw, unapologetic storytelling to our screens, making space for leading female narratives. Writers like Dolly Alderton and Elizabeth Day articulate the modern experience with humour and depth, giving voice to the joys and struggles to our everyday. Meanwhile, Annie Atkins crafts cinematic worlds with incredible attention to detail, showing that storytelling isn’t all about the words, it’s about the visual language that makes us not forget them.

This day is for the girls and we honour not just the women who have led, but those rising now, the designers, the writers, the artists and females driving the conversation forward. Their work isn’t just inspiring; it’s a call to champion more voices, more perspectives and more women shaping the world. Yes to that! And in our own studio at Crown Creative, we see that every day, with the talented, incredible women who make our work possible.
